"My wife and I had lost our apartment and were on very hard times. We were waiting to see what the M.A.C. could do for us, but had no place to sleep while waiting. The Men's Shelter and the Women's Shelter were there for us and took us in. Today my wife and I are living in our own apartment, and our lives have finally stabilized. I can't imagine what we would have done without the Eureka Rescue Mission!" - S.R.

"My first night at the homeless shelter went well. Although I was not used to living with anyone, let alone forty people in a dormatory, the people in charge were supportive and my neurosis seemed to disappear. That, I found out later was because most of the people running the place had been residents. They had been in circumstances similar to mine or worse. They could identify with my feelings of vulnerability. The compassion in their management was sincere and I sensed it." - R.V.
